Family Down

Mayday, Mayday, we’re all down, I repeat we are all down. Down with the flu! The lovely flu. I have been coughed on, sneezed on, used as a tissue,  and have had lovely hot germ infested breath billowing toward my face every two seconds. The discovery of boogie artwork on various surfaces all over the house has been just fabulous. No wonder every single one of us has gotten this flu. It was a nasty flu. An unpredictable flu. We would be sick for a couple days with the fever, chills, aches, sweats, and then we were fine. Then BANG!!! hit again and toppled with the cough and runny nose and more fevers.

You see I thought things were finally looking up. My washing machine was FINALLY fixed (that’s another post). My three weeks of poison ivy was finally going away and I almost got a full nights sleep. Finnegan slept in his bed for an entire night which is miraculous…and then shortly after he woke he puked all over me, Logan spiked another fever, then Deacon spiked a fever, then I spiked a fever. The husband thought he survived…BUT of course that wasn’t going to happen and he got slammed. You all know when the man of the house gets sick you better watch out. Personally for me, it’s worse than the kids. I would love to put him into an induced coma until he’s 100% better.

So if you’ve been wondering where I’ve been…I’ve been trying to tend to the sick family, keep up with the house, and battle the flu. Lucky for me…I’m almost better. Logan is doing good and we’re just waiting for the other three to get back to themselves. I can’t wait to get back to normal.

  1. My daughter-in-law is dealing with a toddler with the same yucky stuff and she is nine months pregnant… motherhood is a tuff job. Isn’t it?

  2. I was going to click “Like” but how can I “like” it that you all have the flu? That really stinks!! Last year all nine of us had the flu at the same time. This year, we all got a shot! Yep, a shot it will be from now on!!

  3. Ah, the joys of germ sharing! And isn’t it funny, how the Mom is always the one who has to fight through the germs and carry the whole household? Well, not funny, really, more like sad. Hang in there. Here’s wishing you all a speedy recovery.
