It’s that time. The kids are sleeping, the wine is poured, the dining room table is cleared, and I have gathered all of the paper, ribbon, tape, tags, and bows. My favorite night of the season…PRESENT WRAPPING NIGHT. I’ve always enjoyed this night. I put on christmas music, sip my wine, and get started. I’ve been doing this since I was a teen, well maybe not with the wine. I pick a night and wrap for hours. I don’t know if it’s just the joy of giving or the need to make things look pretty, but I love it. My evening this year was interrupted when my husband came home earlier than expected. While I am a great listener, I just wasn’t in the mood to listen. Luckily I think he got the hint through my glare and stopped his chatter and went in the other room to play Play Station. No offence but it’s just something I like to do alone.
I hear so many people complain about having to wrap presents and I just don’t get it. I love it. I think I may pimp out my wrapping skills next year to make some extra Christmas cash. I found the perfect place…the post office. I made three separate trips to the post office last week. I NEVER go to the post office. I didn’t know they had an entire section of cute and awesome packaging. I was ready to put up a table right there! I should have; seeing I was waiting in line FOREVER while two adorable little old ladies were asking the clerk what envelope they should put their stuff in. Back and forth to the wrapping mecca they went. I would have had them packed up and out the door in minutes. So while I waited patiently with a smile I pondered my new little business venture for next year. I can enjoy wrapping all season long. Maybe even a little drop off service. Drop your stuff off, I’ll wrap it up and bring it back to you. Any takers?
I think it is a great idea. And to have one evening to relax and enjoy the process is the best thing anyone can do for gift giving especially in this season.

Doing it in one evening sounds like the way to go.
I will admit, I HATE HATE HATE wrapping. We use a lot of fabric now and it is pretty quick. I still do the wine but we do it the night before Christmas. 🙂
Great idea Sheri! I agree with you. I love wrapping presents too. I think it’s the OCD-ness in us to make the gifts look perfect. If I lived closer, I’d join you in this endeavor!
I love wrapping presents too!
I have to say I did enjoy wrapping this year too but I would totally take you up on a service like that. It is a perfect service for busy moms.
You can wrap them, but I want to tie/curl the ribbons. I looove to curl ribbons.
