Logan picked a great book off the shelf last night. One we haven’t read in a while. Honestly, I forgot we even had it. He had gotten in from the Scholastic Book Club when he was in pre-school. Crunch Munch Dinosaur Lunch by Paul Bright and Michael Terry.
Crunch Munch Dinosaur Lunch is one that all three of my boys enjoy. The story follows big brother Ty Tyrannosaurus as he tries to find some lunch. Each time he even comes close to get a bite to eat his “pest” of a little sister ruins it. You can see Ty’s frustration, something every big brother or sister can relate to. What little one doesn’t like to follow around their older sibling? Ty’s attitude changes when his little sister is threatened by a huge Spinosaurus. He turns from being the annoyed big brother to being her protector. A reminder that even though they can get on each other’s nerves, they still love one another. This is a really great story about the relationship of siblings. I like to remind big brother Logan how important it is to be kind and protect his two little brothers…even though they can get on his nerves from time to time. A bonus in our family is that it’s DINOSAURS!!
Too cute!!!
I think this book is JUST what we need! We have been having some sibling rivalry issues this week and I think a gentle dino reminder might be just what the doctor ordered.
PS – I think you should make this a link up post weekly. I would totally participate!
That’s a great idea! I’m trying to do them every Thursday. I’ll keep you posted.
This sounds like a great book!
Definitely a book to consider when Grandson gets a sibling! Thanks for the suggestion!
(I used to LOVE getting the Scholastic Book lists when the kids were little. I wish I STILL could get them!) 🙂
Scholastic has a website now. Go check it out. My boys LOVE getting the flyers at school. They always look forward to it.
Sounds like a great read. We are reading every night this summer, just like when he was little. I am re-reading all our old favorites before I retire them to storage. This one looks cute for veggie boot camp next week!
Oh my word, Alice would love this! I am putting it on our library list…
