The Bookshelf – How The Grinch Stole Christmas!

the grinch

The ever so famous How The Grinch Stole Christmas! is a book we read every year. My husband seroiusly does the BEST job at reading this treasured tale to the kids. He’s animated and tries his best to soundย  just like Boris Karloff, who narrated the 1966 Dr. Seuss’ How The Grinch Stole Christmas! christmas television special. The kids absolutely love it!

I’ve always really loved the message of this story. Christmas isn’t about all the decorations and presents, it’s about being together with your family. It’s about love and kindness. Two things we need to see more of in this world. You can’t help but cheer for that grouchy old grinch. The excitement you feel when his heart grows three sizes. Goodness wins.

Don’t just watch the television special. Go out and get the book and start a new Christmas tradition. Practice that classic Boris Karloff impression.

Merry Christmas everyone!

  1. I love the picture of your husband reading to the children. They really seem to be soaking up the attention (one even seems to be soaking up his brain!). I just posted a list of a few Christmas books I’ve enjoyed reading to my children. I’d love for you to check it out and add your own favorites.

  2. We love that story too!! We’ve read it, watched the cartoon, live (Jim Carey) version & we took Ava to see it at PPAC last year! I love reading all the Christmas books & watching all the Christmas movies with the girls…my husband is pretty good at voices too!! ๐Ÿ˜‰
