“Edith, don’t kill anybody.”

As I sat on the couch the other night, sipping my wine and folding laundry, I heard little voices coming from the boys bedroom (they were supposed to be sleeping). Now I had specifically told them “chatter time” was over about 15 minutes prior. Before I got up off the couch I heard, “Edith, don’t kill anybody.” To which my oldest replied, “Despicable Me 2.”

“Say what!? I’m a bunny!” “Where are the bloody seatbelts!?” “Holy crab!” “Hi, Guy!”

I didn’t have the heart to break it up. They were saying movie quotes and guessing which movie they were from. I used to do the same thing with my cousin as a kid. He was the only person I knew who could recite the entire movie of Kuffs complete with a perfect Christian Slater impression. It wasn’t until they started animating the quotes and getting too wild that I had to put an end to it.

Movies are my thing. I love to see they have a little piece of mommy and cousin Michael in their souls. The kid’s ALF impression was to die for. I miss him so much. There was no one else I shared this weirdness with. Now my kids are just as weird and I love it!

It’s also refreshing to hear them doing that than bickering with one another. Brotherhood.

  1. This. Is. Awesome!! I love it, I used to do the same thing with friends of mine! I think it’s great when our kids share in our “weirdness” 😉

  2. I love this post. I love that your boys are so awesome. You have a lot of wonderful years of movies and quotes ahead of you… some of them wildly inappropriate, making them all the funnier! xo!
