Looking for a yummy treat this weekend…aside from the mountains of Halloween candy you now have lying around? I’m sharing my recipe for Banana Nut Scones over at Mom Generations.
My kids devoured the entire dozen in TWO days! Go check them out.
Banana Nut Scones
Servings 12 scones
Ingredients
- 2 ¼ cups flour
- 1/3 cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 6 tablespoons butter cold
- ½ cup mashed banana
- 2 tablespoons milk
- 1 egg
- Chopped walnuts optional
Instructions
-
Pre-heat the oven to 425° and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
-
Combine the dry ingredients (not the walnuts) and then cut in the butter until you have what resembles a crumble. In a separate bowl combine the wet ingredients and whisk them together. Then fold the wet mixture in with the crumble and form dough.
-
Liberally flour your surface and roll the dough out to a half inch thick. If you want to use the walnuts, this is the time to press them into the dough. Cut into a dozen triangles and then bake them for 15 minutes
Recipe Notes
Seriously delicious! I’ve created little scone monsters in my house.
You can’t tempt me with that deliciousness… It’s too cruel! Plus I am headed to Cancun in 5 weeks! Ugh!
Those sound amazing. I’m putting them on my baking list for the month.
