Back to School and a Blog Makeover

Well hello there! It’s been a while. A ton of posts in my head and none of them have been brought to the screen yet. It’s been quite the week, or maybe it’s been two. I’ve lost count. Since our last night of summer hurrah, it’s been a whirlwind. The kids went back to school and AMAZING things happened. My oldest came home and said, “I think I might actually like this school year mom.” I may have fell to the kitchen floor praising Jesus at that very moment. May? No, that’s exactly what I did do. I never in my life thought I would hear those words come from his mouth; the other two kids maybe, but not him. Maybe it has to do with the fact that he’s starting the school year with a substitute teacher for the next seven weeks and she has yet to give them any homework. I’m sure this joy won’t last. We’re not that lucky.

The other two hooligans love their new teachers. They’re both separated from their besties but they’re surviving. It’s not the end of the world.

We celebrated the first day of school with our own little make your own sundae bar. The kids were absolutely thrilled!

sundae barIt’s back to make lunches (Ugh!). However, only one kid gets snack time so it’s a little less work. I like getting back into the school routine, I just hate the homework battles and lunch-making, but routine is good. I thrive on routine. How are you all adjusting?

As you can well see, I’ve been changing up the blog this week. It’s been a long process and I’m still not fully satisfied with the design yet, so if you have some suggestions please let me know. I’ll be changing it up plenty. I switched over from WP.com to WP.org and there were a few hiccups along the way and I’m learning new techy terms like “propagation” every day. Fun times. Piece by piece we’re falling back into a routine and I can start getting my posts written up when the kids go to bed.

    1. .org is self hosted so you pay a hosting company. With this you have more creative options as well as the option to do sponsored pots, giveaways, etc. You’re not supposed to do that on .com.
