A Fun Family New Year

We had an amazingly fun night New Years Eve, just the five of us…oh and the dog, can’t forget the princess. We started the night with appetizers for dinner. Then broke out the game of Pictionary that the boys got for Christmas. We had so much fun! Even Finnegan who is 6 did really well.

Then we moved onto Charades. I’m still kicking myself for not getting Logan’s rendition of Jaws on video.

Then we started getting a little more rowdy with a crazy game of Simon Says. After, I introduced them to a game I used to play at nearly every birthday party as a kid. I couldn’t believe they’d never done this. It was absolutely hysterical. I remember as a kid I was the tiniest and would always be the last to pop the balloon. My children think I’m crazy. Not that they didn’t know that before, it’s just more confirmed now.

Did you every play this as a kid?

After that craziness, we turned out the lights and broke out the glow sticks. A dance party, glow stick hide and seek, followed by a crazy music jam session in the kitchen.

Finally, it was time to chill and watch a movie. We chose Tomorrowland. Definitely not as good as I thought it was going to be, but they enjoyed it. Anything with a little Clooney is alright in my book. We had to pause the last 15 minutes to watch the ball drop. I’m still a little upset that I missed Luke Bryan’s Rockin’ Eve performance. I’ll have to google it.

My husband and I rang in the New Year with a beautiful bottle of Francis Coppola’s Sofia champagne that I had been saving. A dear friend gave it to me a few months back and I’ve been holding onto it to ring in the New Year. It was delicious and we drank the entire bottle. Cheers!
