The Hating Game – Sally Thorne

I’m starting off 2020 with trying more new authors I haven’t read before. The first one did NOT disappoint. The Hating Game by Sally Thorne. I absolutely adored this book and I already want to read it again. I have the motion picture and cast already planned out in my head. Anna Kendrick would make the perfect Lucy Hutton. Any gorgeous young Clark Kent would do for Joshua Templeton. Lucy and Joshua find themselves working side by side after the merger for their companies. When Josh doesn’t smile at her on the first day, it is GAME ON! Lucy loves to hate Joshua Templeton. It’s a daily game. It seems that he is always one-up in their game and it drives Lucy crazy. Their banter is so fun to read. When they are pitted against each other for a promotion things really start to spiral. Every turn I thought , “well this is the climatic moment,” then I was wrong because something else happens, again, and again. I couldn’t put it down.

The secret Lucy didn’t know is that there is a very thin line between love and hate, and maybe Joshua never hated her all along. If you want something light and funny, I highly recommend it.
