I think this novel is great for any of you writers out there. The story takes place in Massachusetts in the summer of 1997. It follows the story of Casey who is trying fulfill her dream of becoming a writer when her world is turned upside down by the sudden death of her mother. She is struggling to deal with the grief of losing her mother, a broken heart, a mountain of debt, and a father she is ashamed of.

She tries to balance her creative ambitions of writing and publishing a novel while trying to manage her currently challenging life. Should she just give up that dream? I found myself wanting her to just throw in the towel, then I found myself cheering her on. Let me know what you think.
